Shel (they/them) is a Black and Chinese gender-expansive writer, healer, and herbalist based on Kumeyaay land (San Diego) with deep community ties to Piscataway land (D.C.). Their work explores themes of ancestry, chosen family, and embodied dreaming through poetry and plant medicine. In 2021, they founded the Dream Seeding Writing Circle, a space for BIPOC creatives to integrate somatic techniques into their writing practice. As the creator of Creations by Florea, they craft small-batch herbal remedies that support both physical and energetic well-being.
